Hire A Retail Cart In Your Local Community
Are you a local seller, artisan, or small business looking for retail space to sell your products and promote your business?
Well, with Libraries Unlimited’s Retail Cart scheme now you can! With rentals starting from as little as £20 per day, this scheme is a cost-effective way to make a profit without having to pay over the odds for a commercial hire. Plus, by renting within the library space, you will have access to existing library customers to build your brand and spread the word about the products you have to offer.
With our Retail Cart available to rent during opening hours in Exeter Library, you will be able to grow your business by connecting with customers in the heart of local communities and drum up sales within our friendly spaces.
Our Retail Cart is available to rent on an on-going basis throughout the year and will be located within central areas of the library to maximise browsing and potential sales. Plus, with our library being situated in a central city location, with accessible spaces and easy public transport links, you will be able to interact with our existing broad customer base which ranges from families, teens and adults.
You can book to suit your schedule – one day, weekends, or a five-day week rental. Throughout the year, each library also has busy seasonal events, so by renting a Retail Cart within a library space, you will be able to advantage of all the hustle and bustle. Because of this, we highly recommend that you book early to bag yourself a slot during our peak times.
Another benefit of renting a Retail Cart within our library spaces is that free WIFI is available, and you are more than welcome to bring along your own signage for display on the day. Also available to you is the opportunity to become a member of Libraries Unlimited for free which not only grants you access to thousands of resources and physical titles, but also to our digital library where you can discover hundreds of eBooks, eAudiobooks, eMagazines and eNewspapers.
Alongside being able to access all the digital and physical resources on offer, Libraries Unlimited also has a fantastic Business and IP Centre (BIPC) programme available to you that is perfect for nurturing fledging and start-up businesses as it provides free 1:1 support, advice, workshops and drop-sessions for any budding entrepreneurs. Funded by the British Library, the Business and IP Centre also hold regular drop-in sessions with experts ranging in fields from Marketing, Social Enterprise to Business Growth.

How Does it Work?
To rent the Retail Cart in Exeter Library you can begin your application by filling out this application form. If your application is successful, you will be contacted by us with further booking instructions and information.
If you are visiting any of the libraries which offer Retail Carts, you will also be able to scan a QR code on the carts with your smartphone or device to start your application. We will also share the QR code via our social media along with any updates.
We are keen to welcome and support as many home-grown or start-up local businesses as possible, and we encourage all types of sellers to apply.

How Much Does It Cost to Rent a Cart?
Prices start from as little as £20 per day, a five-day week rental is £100, and for weekend rentals, the prices stand at £30 for Exeter.
All proceeds raised by cart rentals will go directly to support the Libraries Unlimited charity (1170092) which provides library services across 54 libraries in Devon and Torbay.
This scheme has been developed to be as lucrative as possible for sellers and is designed in line with our mission to enrich lives and build thriving communities.
