Professor William Harvey reveals his Desert Island Books

Professor William Harvey, Chair of the Board of trustees for Libraries Unlimited and Associate Dean of Research & Impact at the University of Exeter Business School, will reveal the top titles that he would take to a desert island, at an exclusive event at Exeter Library.

Will will be in conversation with Exeter Library Centre Manager, Emily Macaulay, at the Desert Island Books event on Tuesday 26^th March from 7pm to discuss his choice Desert Island Books.

Desert Island Books, is take on the famous radio show Desert Island Discs and has been running at libraries throughout the county for many years, though this is the first event of its kind to be held at Exeter Library. Former guests include famous faces such as Sir Peter Bazalgette and Ann Widecombe at Totnes Library.

Emily Macaulay, Centre Manager at Exeter Library said: “I’m extremely excited to have Will join me on stage to discuss his desert island book choice. As a very successful and committed academic I’m intrigued to find out what books have had a long-lasting impact on his life and career, and why. This is the first event of its kind at Exeter Library and I’m looking forward to developing the programme over the coming year.”

Will was appointed as Chair of the Board of trustees at Libraries Unlimited in November 2018, joining a diverse range of independent, staff and community trustees that lead the charity and oversee the running of 54 libraries in Devon and Torbay alongside the charity’s Chief Executive.

During his career Will has studied, taught and worked with multiple organisations in Africa, Asia, Europe, North America and Oceania. Through his current role at the University of Exeter Business School he conducts research, teaches and consults in the areas of reputation, leadership, talent management and migration and has worked with pharmaceutical, healthcare, energy, local and national government, aviation and food organisations.
