Looking for a fun, free, and family-friendly outdoor activity? Join us for The Great Town Trek: Birds & Brave Hearts. Starting from South Molton Library, this fun town trail is perfect for kids, parents, and curious minds.
The adventure starts right here at the library. Simply pick up your free trail sheet from our friendly staff during library opening hours, and head out to explore the town centre at your own pace.
What Will You Discover? Look in shop windows around South Molton, to uncover fascinating facts about:
-Pigeon Pioneers: Learn how these common town birds are actually brave, world-traveling explorers!
-Super Seagulls: Learn about the amazing superpowers these birds have that help them survive anywhere.
-Human Explorers: Discover some fun facts about historic travellers and adventurers who shaped our world.
No booking required—just turn up during opening hours and grab a sheet! Make sure to wear some comfortable walking shoes.
Once you have completed the trail, head back to the library to show us your completed sheet, tell us your favourite fact, and to be in with a change of winning a prize in our prize draw.
Why not sign up for the Summer Book Quest – The Mission to Wayfarer Island – at the same time? One the of the challengers for the Summer Book Quest is to tell a member of staff a fun fact about pigeons, seagulls or explorers, so, after completing the Town Trail, you’ll be off to a flying start!
Please note the trail ends at 1pm on Saturday 12th September and the prize draw will take place after this.
We are very grateful to: South Molton Town Council, South Molton Rotary Club and an anonymous Trust for funding our launch event & our Summer Holiday Activity Programme.
