Health and Wellbeing

Our Commitment to Health and Wellbeing

Health and Wellbeing is at the heart of our offer at Libraries Unlimited, and we believe that libraries are for life. Our dedicated teams are there to support everyone, from signposting to a helpline to a song at bounce and rhyme, inspiring at a coding club to informing at a wellbeing drop-in.

Through our new strategy, which you can read more about below, we are focusing on three key areas of community need in our commitment to do more. Working with local organisations and local voices, we want to ensure that people feel more socially engaged, feel better digitally aware, and feel empowered to make healthy lifestyle choices.

Our Priorities

Following a staff survey, local research and annual customer review data, we have been able to develop a new Health and Wellbeing strategy that focuses on priority areas, priority activities and priority audiences. Over the next few years, this strategy will guide our health and wellbeing outcomes and help shape funding bids and partnerships for new projects and programmes to the public.

If you'd like to learn more about our health and wellbeing plans or perhaps work with us on any of the above, please get in touch.

Digital Inclusion supporting our communities to feel less digitally excluded with access to devices, free Wi-Fi , support sessions and essential digital skills and online safety workshops

Social Health reducing social isolation across Devon and Torbay by creating more opportunities for informal, interactive and intergenerational community cafés or wellbeing drop-ins

Healthy Lifestyles empowering people with health literacy and trusted information, whilst working with local partners to increase movement and mobility in a fun and accessible way
