Willmott Dixon

We are delighted to see our partnership with Willmott Dixon entering its 3rd year.

Initially our partnership began with Willmott Dixon and Julian House to help vulnerable individuals access free warm coats in our libraries. Together we called on our communities to donate unwanted coats. Since then the partnership has grown.

In 2022 we partnered together again to deliver Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM)  workshops in libraries. These free activities complimented the ‘Gadgeteers’ science-themed Summer Reading Challenge, by inviting 6 to 16 year olds to experience virtual reality and design bridges.

Around 200 children and young adults took part – igniting children’s enthusiasm for STEM, and helping families struggling to find free things to do during the summer holidays.

This year we have been absolutely delighted to have been able to offer a weekly Breakfast Club at Torquay Library, made possible with funding from Willmott Dixon. The club is attended by 20 – 40 people every week. Some come for a chat and welcome company, for others it means a healthy breakfast before school or work.
