Our impact
Help us to change someone’s story
Our libraries are so much more than books – they are dynamic and active, supporting their local communities in as many ways as possible, whether through baby weigh facilities, work clubs or knit and natter groups – we’re here, and we’re free to all.
With your support, we tackle many fundamental issues that our communities face today, including educational and social inequalities, skills gaps, and loneliness and isolation. With the cost-of-living crisis still affecting so many across Devon and Torbay, our work is more vital than ever.
Your donations help us to reach more people, and extend what are able to give to those in need. Whether it’s free food through our community fridges, access to computers and digital facilities, or simply to spend time in a warm and welcoming space – your donations help us to make a lasting impact in our communities.
Improve literacy and education
Research shows an undeniable link between literacy levels and social inequality, and the importance of reading for pleasure.
Support skills development
Many of our libraries run or host work clubs reducing barriers to employment and supporting around 600 people into work and training every year.
Combat loneliness and isolation
Your donation will help reduce loneliness and isolation by making sure our services are here for anyone who needs them.
