Fancy a Halloween fancy dress night of fun and performance?

Young people from Paignton will be showing off their music, singing and theatre talents in the town’s library at a special Halloween Open Mic and Scratch Night on Saturday 28th October from 7pm.

The event will also feature a chance to have a go at spooky-themed crafts and creating. And there’s an open invitation to attend the event dressed up in Halloween costume!

The evening is being jointly hosted by Paignton Library and Doorstep Arts. It will run between 7pm and 9.30pm at Paignton Library, Great Western Road, Paignton TQ4 5AG.

Lisa Headon-Cooke from Libraries Unlimited said: “We’re promising a spooky night of fun for families and young people, with theatre, music, poetry and more. It will be a fully supportive space for young people to try out giving a performance and showcase their growing talents. We fully understand how nerve-wracking it is getting up in front of an audience, and we want to invite a crowd who will give the them the warmest welcome possible.”

“As well as the Open Mic, families and young people can enjoy mindful colouring and diamond art, all with a fun Halloween theme. The event pulls together Paignton’s vibrant community with creative offers to suit all tastes..”

Performers to enjoy on the night will include Doorstep Arts Youth Theatre and Doorstep Arts Studio Courses (DAS) Musical Theatre groups.

Tickets are pay what you can – £2, £3 or £5 – and are available from Eventbrite (with online booking fee) here or by phoning the library on 01803 714460.
