Fall in love with films this February
Posted on 24 Jan 2024Whether it’s a romantic Valentine’s date or just a chance to cosy up and get lost in a good movie, film-lovers are being spoiled for choice with a month of low-cost screenings across libraries.
The next season of ‘Films at the Library’ runs throughout February in warm, welcoming community libraries across Devon and Torbay. It’s the fifth season of films staged by Libraries Unlimited, with the combination of low-cost tickets and classic and new movies proving a hit with customers.
February’s line-up will include the multi-Oscar-winning ‘Life of Pi’, directed by Ang Lee, ‘The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry’ which was filmed in Kingsbridge and other Devon locations, and animated children’s favourite ‘Monsters Inc’.
Programme Coordinator Tamsin Pender said: “We’re really pleased with how popular ‘Films at the Library’ is proving with local communities. With tickets costing as little as £3 and a chance to re-watch old favourites or catch recent releases, we’re delighted to be able to roll out another season. February is a tough month for many people, with cold weather, higher fuel bills, and maybe a touch of the post-Christmas blues. Our libraries are warm, welcoming spaces where, as well as seeing a film, visitors can check out local groups and events, use the computers, grab a hot drink and of course browse thousands of books!”
Bookings can be done online here and in person at libraries.
